Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work with elementary, middle and high school students of diverse ethnic backgrounds. Possess good interpersonal and organizational skills. Possess characteristics of responsibility, desire to help others, discretion and flexibility. Knowledge of basic academic skills application and the ability to demonstrate the successful application of various academic skills. Ability to work independently applying critical thinking skills and problem solving to various situations.

Major Duties

  1. Plans and facilitates tutoring sessions
  2. Assists students in the development of appropriate learning and studying skills.
  3. Maintains consistent communication with Project Director.
  4. Models appropriate academic attitudes and behaviors to staff, parents and students.
  5. Maintain academic information for assigned students
  6. Complete the required DJJ trainings in SkillsPro
  7. Performs other duties as assigned.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Handle and protect confidential and sensitive data with integrity.
  • Maintains database by entering new and updated student information from sign in sheets and surveys.
  • Prepares source data for compiling and sorting information.
  • Assist staff in design and maintenance of surveys and relational databases; this frequently involves use of Microsoft Excel
  • Establishes entry priorities.
  • Resolves deficiencies by using standard procedures by discussing concerns or issues with supervisor
  • Assist staff in analyzing data in various formats.
  • Assist staff in the design and execution of data for evaluation
  • Produce written and visual materials for program evaluation reports and presentations.
  • Verifies entered data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data.
  • Secures information by completing data base backups.
  • Assist in administering program participants surveys at identified sites.
  • Attend sessions with facilitators, when requested
  • Performs routine clerical duties as instructed, if essential to the research activities of the program

Bachelor’s Degree and (4) years of experience in implementing and managing prevention program and working with under-served youth.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work with elementary, middle and high school students of diverse ethnic backgrounds.
  • Possess good interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Communicates effectively and in a professional manner with colleagues, school administrators, school staff, parents, guardians, students and all other stakeholders either oral or written.
  • Possess characteristics of responsibility, desire to help others, discretion and flexibility.
  • Knowledge of basic academic skills application, data analysis and to present in a professional manner.
  • Ability to work independently applying critical thinking skills and problem solving to various situations.
  • Ability to conduct training and presentations.
  • Assists in marketing of program for growth and retention.

Performance Responsibilities

  • Coordinate program implementation with staff, contract staff, community leaders and other partnering agencies

  • Provide training for contracted staff

  • Develop monthly afterschool activities

  • Supervise staff to ensure program goals and objectives are achieved

  • Maintain all program records and files

  • Maintain and update statistical information on program participants

  • Develop a management plan outlining activities, timelines and evaluation for the project

  • Consult with staff regarding issues related to program participants

  • Conduct bi-weekly staff meetings with Tutors

  • Direct and coordinate planning to involve Executive Director, staff, and community representatives

  • Coordinate and maintain a good working relationship with community leaders

  • Acts as liaison at community/partnership meetings

  • Attend (2) partnership meetings per month in Levy County

  • Perform other tasks as assigned
